Program Coordinator - Lynn, Massachusetts

Type: Full-time

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday

Start date: August 2, 2026

Where: Based at our warehouse in Lynn, Massachusetts with regular travel in program truck across Massachusetts.

Salary: $48,500–$52,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

ABOUT A BED FOR EVERY CHILD

A Bed for Every Child is a program of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, working to provide brand-new beds to Massachusetts children who don't have one of their own. As Program Coordinator, you'll keep the program moving on the ground, delivering beds to families, running volunteer bed-building events, prepping materials in the workshop, and handling the logistics that make it all happen.

It's hands-on, people-facing work with a clear mission. Most of your time is spent leading volunteer events and out in the field, so we're looking for someone organized, comfortable speaking to a group, and happy to load a truck one hour and welcome a room of volunteers the next.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Run volunteer events. Set up workstations and materials, welcome and instruct volunteer groups, speak about the program's mission, keep events safe and on schedule, take photos to document the day, then clean up and pack out.

  • Deliver beds and furniture. Transport twin beds, mattresses, and furniture to families across Massachusetts loading and unloading safely and representing the program well with families and partners.

  • Prep events and materials. Get materials ready, load and unload program vehicles, and keep supplies and the warehouse organized before and after events.

  • Build in the workshop. Help cut lumber and produce bed components and event materials using drills, saws, drill presses, CNC machinery. No power-tool or CNC experience needed. We'll train you. Keep the shop clean and safe.

  • Handle light admin. Schedule deliveries with families, make coordination calls, and help track inventory and supplies.

Employment is contingent on passing a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) background check.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license, and comfort driving a box truck (or willingness to learn)

  • Comfortable speaking in front of volunteer groups

  • Strong organization and time management

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Comfortable with everyday tech — Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), email, and using a smartphone or tablet in the field for navigation, scheduling, photos, and digital forms

  • Fluent in English, spoken and written

  • Experience driving box trucks or other larger vehicles

  • Experience with public speaking, volunteers, community programs, events, logistics, or deliveries

  • Familiarity with power tools or woodworking

  • Lift and move items up to 25 pounds

  • Stand and walk for extended periods at events; sit for extended periods while driving or doing admin

  • Work in warehouse, outdoor, and busy event settings
